Water Heaters

Tank or tankless, gas or electric: sized for your home and installed to code.

Most water heaters give some warning before they fail: rusty water, a tank that rumbles as it heats, a pilot that keeps going out, or a slow puddle underneath. If yours is past ten years old and showing any of those signs, replacing it on your schedule beats replacing it on the tank's.

Tank or tankless

A conventional tank is simpler and cheaper to install, and for many homes it is the right answer. A tankless unit saves space and never runs out of hot water, but needs enough gas or electrical capacity and the right venting. We look at how your household actually uses hot water and recommend the option that fits, not the one with the biggest margin.

Gas water heaters

Gas water heaters must be installed by a licensed gas fitter under a Technical Safety BC permit. ACAP Plumbing holds the gas licence, pulls the permit and arranges the inspection, so the installation is documented and safe.

Questions we get asked

How long does a water heater last?

Tank units typically run 8 to 12 years; tankless units often longer with regular descaling. Hard water and lack of maintenance shorten both.

Can you install the same day?

Often, for standard tank replacements. Tankless conversions need a site look first to confirm gas, venting and electrical capacity.

Do you remove the old unit?

Yes. We haul away and recycle the old heater as part of the job.
